My Twitter Is No Filter

I'd like to share my opinion on how I use my Twitter. Okay, he we go.

My Twitter is no filter

I've been using Twitter for more than ten years and I use it pretty much for speak-up. I can be true on it, talk everything I want, express my views, my thoughts, my feeling. Just everything. Sometimes I even curse and swear in my tweet just like many, many users do. My Twitter is no filter. No filter is my Twitter.

I comment on many issues. Social issues mostly, from daily shits, social unrest, to things related to religion and politics either in serious manner or simply (dark) jokes.

Then I followed accounts that frequently make giveaways. Who doesn't want things free? So I followed them, some of them. Then I dunno, their followers followed me and so did I. I won giveaways like three or four times which is actually more than lucky. I'm happy for it, but then shits started screwing up.

The guard is up

I dunno but I found that some (if not many) of my mutual friends are directed to be very supportive on one particular side. Like, they blindly support one side no matter what, and bash on those not supporting the side they do. I can be wrong as I believe people have right to speak whatever they want. And I really respect on that principle.

But then, when I scroll down the timeline I found them tweeting and talking about personal issues and like acting as a blind defenders and it's not a healthy feed for me I think. Especially when we're talking about something "hard talk".

It's not because that I have different opinions, but more like, you know, we argue and it's based on rationality with data and proves and shits whatever. It's gonna be a dynamic yet new knowledge for us as we discuss more deeply on some issues. I am expecting that. But what I often find is that it's full of mocking, shit talking like fxckery and they did it just for defense. So they basically are reluctant to open their mind to some facts and opinion or what?

So I realized that I didn't need such thing so, ya, I started unfollowing those accounts. Even if they still have many many giveaways with more followers but ya, I don't think it works on me. So I unfollowed manyy of them.

My Twitter account were suspended twice

It's true. First time I got suspended for I tweeted something about Stranger Things and it's weird how some users reported my tweet. I mean, I believe at least 12,000 accounts would have been though the same shit as I did. LOL. It's over two weeks until I got my Twitter back to normal.

Since my account was blocked, so I made another account. It's like a backup account. I speak just like whatever it is. No issue I was up against. I use my two accounts, switch-switch.

The second time my Twitter account was suspended because I tweeted about the new criminal code issues. It's widely protested and opposed by the people. And Twitter became like a warzone. My Twitter was suspended for more that three months. And I didn't get a clear explanation why it's suspended. I mean, it's opinion. The way of thinking and I didn't spread false facts or hoax. Should be no problems but anyway, it's settled. And since it's blocked, I used backup account.

Freedom of speech is confusing

At least for now, yes, it's confusing. And it's like a trap. We have to carefully arrange the wording when we're about to tweet about something that's unpopularity standout, or when we're about to criticize on something that's just needed to be evaluated or critized. As there's a law that, in practical level, allow those with powers to deploy their "things" to "look at" us on what we're saying. It's a bit ridiculous for me personally as the debate keeps going on there on whatever the issues. If we don't agree on something, and we're dealing with those who are at the opposite, then we just deal with them, giving some arguments with evidences, rationality, concepts, whatever it is.

But nowadays, some people use the law to curb the tongues of those who disagree with them. Isn't it a misuse of ...you know what I mean? So ya, freedom of speech is confusing, if not slowly fading nowadays.

Anyway, those are some points I'd like to share here. I do expect that we will still have our freedom to express our thoughts without fearing on something silly happen, just because we're being true and speaking facts.

Indonesians Storm Thai Gay Couple's Social Media With Humiliation And Dead Threats? Why?

It's embarrassing for me to ask this kind of question actually. But, I just read news of "Indonesians storm Thai gay couple's social media with humiliation and even dead threats because of their wedding post on their social media".

I mean, come on people! How come you possibly so rude to others? They throw all the bad words into the comment section and it's just embarrassing. Indonesians are way too far crossing the lines.

First, okay let's say you do not agree with what they are because it's forbidden by religion. You have to understand that religion is a private matter. Oh, sorry maybe some you don't take it so. Anyhow, if you insist to do so, just why don't you storm those committed any, any forbidden by religion thing as what you believe?

You need not go far stalking someone's profile who's not even living in your country. You have corruptors to bash as they've stolen and added on more difficulties in lives of millions in your country. What they the corruptors have done is: forbidden by religion (as what you expect), and moreover, done harms as they took away rights of the people. They took money supposed to be allocated in education improvement, social assistance, healthcare and facilities, and many more.

Even if you keep insisting what the gay couple had done is forbidden by religion, do they harm you and other people? Can you please let the world know what harms of it? Evenmore, do they take people's money and add on more poverty? Do they say bad words upon you?

One more thing, don't you even remember that saying bad words to the other people is forbidden by religion?

Second, cursing them as to be causes of natural disasters is another ridiculous trash-ure in your head. Natural disasters are scientifically caused by nature (eg. Earthquake, tsunami, volcanoes, storms) or in other cases by us human (eg. fires, global warming, flood after deforestation). There is no correlation between someone's sexual orientation with natural disasters. That is why we call it natural disasters, it's the nature. You may think you're right with your cursing but you just make a fool of yourself, silly.

Third, you may never hear about "different pond different fish". Every country has their own rules and laws and we have to respect. Let's not jump into another country, let's talk about another region or province which implement different policies. Why don't you just take the same stance when it comes to different countries that you barely know about them even for a damn thing?

This era of evolving innovation in technology, we are so blessed as everything gets easier to get done. We can stay updated within a blink of an eye about almost everything. Social media plays a major role in our daily lives. Maybe you use your mouth less nowadays, but please control your big mouth in mind and fingers so, in case you cannot use it for good, maybe you just "mute" it while thinking what good things may come from your writings. You may say something degrading upon someone else, but in the end, you're only degrading yourselves.

And forget about LGBT issues to get addressed and solved. With those kind of thought, it's very challenging to settle and step forward just like the other countries have been doing.

What Terrorists Should Understand

It's, again, shocking to know there were terrorist attacks that happened within three days this week in Makassar and Jakarta. Thank God there're no fatalities except for the attackers themselves, which were, still, sad to know they ended their life for nothing. Concerning the issue, I have some points to say about what terrorists should very much understand and I'm trying not to drag it to political, racial, religion matters, but more into humanity in general, as it is universal.

Craving for Heaven

Nobody doesn't really want to go to hell even though for some people it won't matter, simply as they don't believe in such thing. It's a matter of beliefs anyway, but picturing "hell" is not always a good idea for most of us whatever it is. The doers of the bomb attacks believed that they're gonna go to heaven because they've done "the right things" and "justifiable" that make them "eligible" for the tickets.

Here's the thing. Every house has its own rules. You can do this, but this one just don't. If you do this, if you avoid this, you'll go to heaven. But how can you go to heaven but in the meantime you create hell for you and people around you? That's the attackers should've very much understood before taking decision to commit to any terror attack.

Is killing a right thing? Definitely not no matter what. Taking somebody's life means taking a son or a daughter from their parents. Taking somebody's life means taking parents from their children. Taking someone away so nobody can support the house. Or taking one who's become the only reason for someone not to give up. And when they're taken away from their families or friends, means that some part of their lives are also taken away. And it's not justifiable for anybody to take what's not theirs. Did they even know the first messages from Him included do not kill?

At this point, are they still eligible for heaven?

Relationship with God and people

Becoming a faithful or religious person cannot be taken as bad. Practicing what the religions teach you is a good thing. By doing so maybe it will take you to a closer and intimate relationship with God. But what people need to always remember is that having a good relation between people is manifested from their good relation with God. No matter how close someone feels about their relation with God goes to redundancy as long as they have no good intentions to the other people. Does God really want you to get close to Him by asking you to make the other people your enemy?

Disagreements on things and that really sound ridiculous, and here they are:

  1. Disagreement on conventional banking and it's sinful. Do they know that there is now Sharia-based banking system with its banks available that they can use? They can choose which one suits them most.
  1. Disagreement on government, which eventually lead us to talk about people relation and the complexity of life aspects interrelated nowadays. If they don't want to live under the regulation of a country, they can move somewhere foreign and remote where nobody's gonna reach them, and no products or values they will infuse and threaten their ideal of purity. Since there is no, nothing, pure nowadays. Okay, let's say, should they make it, living in their own place with their ideals, still human relation is inevitable. Otherwise they have to use to find any other way as current technologies and products even concepts and ideas are not 100 percent based on their purity ideal.

The world evolves and bad things happen, either due to force majeure or human-designed. Killing, attacks, any other form of terror just make it worse. How can you expect something better when you're making things worse? At least for yourself first.

Online Identity And Why It Matters

When it comes to online, it's limitless. And timeless. And endless.

Everything goes online. How we have to mess up with this and in the end we need to mess up with this in every single day is the main thing I want to break down here. So, what has happened actually?

It's about the shifting of people's mindset when they found themselves in a very broad open area called online world. How it promises them so much things, more than they ever could expect. And how, most importantly, it fills up the hollowness of their real world they cannot fulfill.

Online identity is an image construction of oneself. Anything posted by someone on their social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Blog, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc) and forums that users want to depict their image as they want. Internet users come up with identities that are same to their real world ones, though many of them may come with different version of them online.

Some users are just fine to use their real identity in online forums or communities, some are considering "alternative person" or wearing "masks". People are fine using their real identity maybe because socially they are neutral or acceptable. Sorry to say but, for those looking freak and weird and anti-social (frankly: hardly socially-acceptable appearances and personalities), the online world helps them much. As the place they can escape to (or hide from), as the (real) world they can make up, and for their existence, pride whatsoever that it can add them up to.

When a person is not (really) accepted by the people (society), they're gonna feel like they're less worthy, sometimes. The way society look down on them is something that they know they should not worry about but then it influences the others to do the same. And it's inevitably impacts the person, bad way. What should be done then? Some people just don't care of it. Others take it too personal. Either you care or not, as long as you keep silent, nothing's gonna change.

So do you need to speak up? Yes.

Directly? In-person? Not necessarily.

In a society that's pretty conservative, it's uneasy sometimes to speak about ideas and perspectives. When it's simply contradictive to them, or (perceived as) radical, they'll simply say no and reject, and provide no space for arguments. So thank to today's technology where someone can use masking identity. A no-real name, character, or personality that someone can be totally in. In social media such as Facebook and Twitter we can find many alter accounts.

What "social"? Which "society" is it then?

Because people will always talk. No matter what medium is. So basically, the online constructed society is just the same as in the real world. People see, comment, and give their judgements on things, like it or not.

If it's the same thing then why masking identity is there?

Because it doesn't reveal someone's real identity. And that's important.  They need not worry about what people say yet they can speak up and express themselves in ways they want. The online world provides spaces for sharing ideas and arguments. If people don't like it, they just can skip, but if they're open to talk then the conversation can be held without fear and worrying about social consequences. Then the exchange happens, with hope for better understanding. And it can hardly found in real world. It's like a safety net.

But, does it seem like they have lack of self-esteem by doing so? The answer is when can the society be conducive to an interaction with confidence between people and no fear for social judgements?

I believe online identity is a big deal. The internet is the only place where someone can be whatever they want to be. Moreover, it offers them to be any alternative personality that later lead to other perspectives of how people see things in life.
